The Stack
Vitality. Bonding. Belonging.
A simple way of understanding how humans orient toward safety, connection, and belonging — within themselves, their relationships, and their communities.
What is
The Stack?
The Stack is a framework for understanding three core human drives — vitality (self), bonding (intimate connection), and belonging (group and community).
Everyone has all three. What differs is how they’re ordered, emphasized, or protected.
The Stack helps make sense of why people respond the way they do — in stress, in love, in conflict, and in growth.
The Stack is not...
The Stack is not a diagnosis, a personality test, or a fixed identity.
It’s not therapy, and it’s not a replacement for therapy.
It’s a lens — a way of noticing patterns that already exist.
Why The Stack exists…
Humans are often taught what to do, but not how they’re wired to seek safety and connection.
The Stack emerged from years of observing how people regulate themselves, relate to others, and orient to groups — especially under stress.
It’s an attempt to name something many people already feel, but don’t yet have language for.
